Introduction to Patent in Canada
The Global Patent Prosecution Highway (GPPH) program allows patent applicants to fast track the examination at one office if a corresponding application receives positive examination results at one of the GPPH partner Intellectual Property (IP) offices through the sharing of examination results.

To-date, grant rates are significantly higher for PPH applications and a significant percentage of the PPH applications proceed to allowance in Canada without the issuance of an office action.
